Commitment to Health and Transparency
Many people assume that when an ethical breeder conducts extensive health testing and raises puppies with exceptional care, those puppies will never experience health issues. While thorough health screening and responsible breeding practices significantly reduce risk, they cannot eliminate it entirely. Very few things in life come with a 100% guarantee, and I cannot promise that a puppy will never face a health concern. What I can promise is that I do everything within my power to improve the odds through careful selection, comprehensive testing, and thoughtful, responsible breeding decisions.
I will never breed dogs that demonstrate health or temperament concerns, or those with a known familial history of hereditary issues. If I determine that a dog is not positively contributing to my goal of producing sound, healthy offspring with stable temperaments, I will retire that dog or entire lines from my breeding program.
Breeding itself carries inherent risks, even when approached with extensive knowledge, planning, and veterinary support. Additionally, once a puppy leaves my care, there are environmental factors beyond my control that can influence long-term health. These include diet, vaccination protocols, exercise habits, and exposure to environmental toxins or medications, including oral flea and tick preventatives.
I invest significant time, financial resources, education, and dedication into my program to give every puppy the strongest possible start in life. My commitment is not to perfection because perfection does not exist, but to integrity, responsibility, and continual improvement in pursuit of producing healthy, well-adjusted companions.
